Camille Fleming joined Magic Box Productions in 2016 and is presently the Photography Teaching Artist at Brooklyn’s International High School at Lafayette.
During her photography residency, students have been able to master their basic knowledge and also strengthen their visual acumen.
“ Working with the Explorers Club has been an adventurous expedition! Each week we travel to different locations throughout NYC and document our experiences visually. Integrating photography with various historical and cultural landmarks allows students to creatively express themselves through an interactive learning experience,” says Camille.
Her background as an artist, history major and musician fuel her passion as an educator. Camille also teaches an African Arts Leadership program at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center in the Bronx. Upon completion of her BA in Art History (minor in Global Black Studies) from SUNY Purchase, she plans to complete her MA in Community Arts to ensure that students in urban communities have access to arts education.
Thanks, Camille, for sharing your expertise, dedication and creativity with our students!
