OPERA IN MOTION

Dear Friends,

In today's lesson, an introduction to the world of opera will serve as the jumping off point for creating a fun stop motion animation.  You can even add your favorite music, too!

Download the lesson as a pdf here. You’ll need a copy of Stop Motion Studio, which can be found here.

Below  is a terrific stop motion animation from the students at IHSHS to get you inspired!

Happy Creating!

Visit  The Metropolitan Opera’s website to watch clips from their catalogue of  live performances in HD.

Also, did you know that the famous children’s author, Maurice Sendak, was so inspired by opera that he spent the second half of his career designing  sets and costumes for various operas? Check out The Morgan Library And Museum to see some of his design work.

When you're done, upload your artwork to Facebook or Instagram using #shareyourmagic and make sure to tag us!

Have fun, stay well, and we'll see you soon!
